With the largest population of bears in the world, we had great opportunities to see these wild animals up close against breathtaking landscapes as a backdrop in Katmai National Park, Alaska! In early summer, the bears leave their dens and come to this area for the breeding season and to feed on the grasses that sprout in the spring. We saw the bears as close as 50 yards!
